Harbor Knoll
As cozy as it is elegant, Harbor Knoll gives you the opportunity to relax and unwined. Situated on Greenport's splendid harbor, the house boasts magnificent views of Shelter Island and the village of Greenport where you can enjoy fine restaurants, cafes, unique boutiques and art galleries. Take a ride on an old fashioned carousel or ice skate on the rink overlooking the harbor. All of this is within easy walking distance. In addition there is direct train and Hampton Jitney bus transport to New York City so you do not really need a car. We are also minutes away from the ferry to Shelter Island and a twenty minute drive to the Cross Sound Ferry, which is the gateway to New England and boston as well as the casinos around the New London area.
Located within close distance to approximately 40 wineries and 3 new local breweries, you have the opportunity to taste a variety of local Long Island wines and beers. Transportation can be arranged if you choose not to drive to them.
All of the three bedrooms offer beautiful views, private bathrooms, flat screen tvs, air conditioning, and fireplaces. In addition we have a recently restored Enchanted Cottage where pets and children are welcome.
Apart from the bedrooms, there are several social rooms: a large sunfilled porch, a sun room where a full breakfast is served in the summer, a library which has one of the best private collections, a lovely dining room and a spectacular drawing room.
Tea and coffee are available throughout the day and thanks to our recently acquired liquor license, bar service is available upon request.
The Greenport area is one of the best for sailing and fishing; a number of boat rental facilities are available. Many guests also take advantage of local bike rentals. Tennis courts and a local public golf links are also nearby.
