Shorecrest was built in the mid 1800's on a crest of land overlooking the Long Island Sound to the North and an inlet of Shelter Bay to the south, as the luxurious summer home for a wealthy Victorian family, one of the most unique, romantic and elegant homes to be found on the North Fork of Long Island.
Today it still retains all the beauty of the original architecture, inside and out and is furnished with the private lifetime collection of antiques, textiles and artwork belonging to the Innkeeper, Marilyn.
Shorecrest's  two private beaches, just steps from our front door on both the Sound and Bay are  available exclusively to guests. Perfect for taking long walks by the water, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, beachcombing, snorkeling, sunbathing  and sunset worshiping, our favorite, our beaches are never crowded.
An acre of gardens with extensive Perennial flower borders, fish pond, hammock and Adirondack chairs for sitting, reading or napping surround the house and offer a cool and welcome respite in summer.
Ideally located, Shorecrest is only 2 to 15 minute drive from over 30 wineries, the villages of Greenport, Cuthogue and Southold, the Orient Point and Shelter Island ferries and the many nearby nature preserves, perfect for bird watching and long walks in winter and early spring if the beach is too brisk.
The four course gourmet breakfast, wine tasting and food pairing classes earn rave reviews and the modern day comfort of newly renovated bathrooms, in each room, flat screen TV with premium cable, WiFi Broadband access throughout and central air conditioning complete the necessities of modern life.
For larger parties, re-unions, corporate events or families with children or pets, Shorecrest Property Management also offers a variety of vacation homes for rent located throughout the North Fork, including a separate four bedroom house right on the Long Island Sound adjoining the Shorecrest beach.
