This summer, visitors and locals can join in the North Fork Bed & Breakfast Association’s (NFBBA) celebration of Tourism and Agriculture on the North Fork of Long Island, on Saturday, July 16, 2011, by taking a tour of the NFBBA’s bed and breakfasts, gardens and vineyards, visiting Cornell Cooperative Extension’s remarkable gardens, meeting local farmers showcasing their produce at the B&Bs, dining at their choice of 10 local restaurants and dancing the night away to Trevor Davison Music at Martha Clara Vineyard

The all day long event begins with a tour of the gardens at Cornell from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. and homes of six members of the NFBBA from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. At each B&B the visitor can meet a local farmer, vintner or food producer: featuring Sannino B&B and Bella Vita Vineyard; Andrew’s Legacy B&B and Trimble’s Nursery; Shorecrest B&B and Sang Lee Farms; Harbor Knoll B&B, SPAT and Clarke’s Garden; By the Bluff and A Taste of the North Fork; and Quintessentials B&B & Spa and Lavender By The Bay.

Ten North Fork restaurants will offer their chef’s signature dishes to diners, from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m., including The Portly Grape, Scrimshaw, Skipper’s, Porto Bello, The Old Mill Inn, Jamesport Manor Inn, Island’s End Bar & Grill, Front Street Station, Orient By The Sea and Soundview. Then, it’s on to dessert and dancing to Trevor Davison Music, at Martha Clara Vineyard, from 7:15 - 10:30 p.m.

The Summer Event is part of the NFBBA’s longstanding commitment to growing business on the North Fork, supporting agriculture and tourism, and at the same time, welcoming both neighbors and tourists to enjoy some of the delights the East End has to offer year round.

For more than 20 years, the NFBBA has been partnering and supporting local businesses and services involved in the hospitality sector, while ensuring a high standard of accommodations and helping to increase the number of tourists/visitors to the North Fork. The association has launched numerous promotions with local businesses and charitable groups. During 2011, several special events are planned, including the Summer Event and the NFBBA’s Annual Holiday House Tour, on December 3rd.

The North Fork Bed & Breakfast Association officially represents the bed and breakfasts on the North Fork to the many commercial and promotional organizations on Long Island and in New York State. To find out more about activities throughout the year and to purchase tickets for future events, please check the individual B&Bs at the Association’s Web site: www.nfbba.org.
